As the global recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic continues, the sporting spotlight has returned to live international championships, tournaments and events. Close to home, Birmingham hosts the Commonwealth Games this month, the largest multi-sport and cultural event the city has ever staged. Further afield, the FIFA World Cup takes place in Qatar in November, the first Arab nation to host the tournament, with an expectation of attendance by 1.5 million fans over the course of the event. The WS Sports Law Conference will address the multitude of legal issues that stem from international sporting competition. With our partners at Lombardi Associates, we are delighted to bring keynote speaker, Patrick Stewart (General Counsel, Manchester United), to Edinburgh to begin the comprehensive programme of current questions for sports lawyers and their clients.
