PURPOSES

Scottish Grantmakers, founded in 1993, is the membership organisation for grantmaking charities working in Scotland. In 2021, Scottish Grantmakers became a registered charity. Scottish Grantmakers’ charitable purposes are to share best practice in grantmaking to promote the voluntary sector and the effectiveness of charities.

OBJECTIVES

Representatives of Scottish Grantmakers’ member organisations meet on a regular basis to discuss issues of common concern and to share information. Scottish Grantmakers’ charitable objectives are the promotion of the voluntary sector and the effectiveness or efficiency of charities, by:

  • fostering and informing good practice in the administration, governance and leadership of trusts and foundations which are grantmakers in Scotland,

  • affording opportunities to members for discussion, liaison, collaboration, education and networking, and

  • engaging in projects and activities designed to enhance and promote the foregoing purposes.
