Online information event

All members have been invited to attend an Online Information Event on Wednesday 30 September from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm. The purpose of the event was to update members, following the consultation process, on the detailed proposals developed for the Society to become a registered charity. The format of the event was a live webinar broadcast, at which members were able to submit questions, following a series of brief presentations. Exhibition showcase

The WS Society is consulting members and stakeholders on a proposal to apply to become a Scottish registered charity. The consultation period commences with an Exhibition Showcase on 26 and 27 June 2019 at the Signet Library. Thereafter the consultation will run until 30 September.

Q&A

The Society is grateful to all Writers to the Signet and other members who have contributed to the consultation. To date (23/09/19), responses have been overwhelmingly favourable (89%) to the proposal. A Q&A document (PDF) has been prepared which you can download here below using the password sent by email. CONSULTATION UPDATE, 03/12/2019

Following circulation of the Q&A, the Society thanks those who submitted further responses. To date, 87.5% of responses are positive in favour of the proposal, 10.5% neutral and 2% negative. Council has resolved this is sufficient mandate to invest in the next stage of feasibility work, supported by an expert group of WS charity specialists.
