Taking the case on a pro Bordeaux basis

  • The Signet Library Parliament Square Edinburgh EH1 1RF (map)

A “Bordeaux” wines tasting, in partnership with L'Art du Vin wine merchants

Bordeaux enjoys the distinction of being the most famous and highly coveted wine blend in the world.

It is worth remembering though that most Bordeaux vineyards are small and family owned, handcrafting their wines with the benefit of generations of know-how. With 6,800 winegrowers involved in the area and very different high-quality terroirs, the result is a wine region rich in diversity of styles. This is sometimes not correctly understood, especially in the UK given the importance of the generic "claret" appellation.

Also Bordeaux is not all about red wines, and the region produces whites, rosés, and wonderful sweet wines, each with their own style. But that's enough said and you will agree that you now definitely need a guide.

Fife-based wine merchants L’Art du Vin take you on tour with a six wines tasting. Expect some great stories and a few surprises.
