Gavin Brown was MSP for the Lothian from 2007 to 2016. He served as the Shadow Minister for Finance from 2011 to 2015. He was Shadow Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism from 2007 and 2011. During his tenure, Gavin spent more time in debate than any other Scottish politician. He participated in over 1,000 parliamentary debates. Gavin’s background is the law. Prior to politics, he was a solicitor with McGrigors (now Pinsent Masons) in their commercial litigation team. He is past champion of the Junior Chamber World and European Debating Competitions.
In this seminar Gavin will translate the lessons he has learned from political debate, live TV and other high pressure presentations to the legal environment. He will explain how to transfer presentation skills to the legal environment, to improve communication with clients and other lawyers.
Gavin is a director of Speak with Impact. He uses his experience of two decades across the public speaking spectrum to help people improve dramatically in a short space of time. His clients include Nestlé, UEFA, the International Olympic Committee and a number of global law firms.
